Back!

My apologies for the long absence. I've had a few health issues of late to sort through. They're ongoing, but hopefully won't get any worse. In addition, I've finally got the reading glasses I've needed for about a year, so I can draw, write and read a lot more easily than before. I had actually reached the point where I had to cross my eyes just to read or draw anything, and, well, it was pretty ridiculous.

On the Burned Oak front, I've almost run out of pre-drawn pages, so my output will slow down from here on in. I will try to keep it regular though. I estimate the story will run its course at 120-130 pages, and we're almost at page 100 now. Closing in on the home stretch; it's all pretty much action from here on. Thanks for waiting :)

Oh man if I had your dedication when drawing my comics (Having your skill would be nice aswell ;) )

How long do you usualy spend on a page?

It can vary. Usually action-packed sequences can be drawn more quickly, with less detail. Slower scenes demand more detail and take longer.

There have been times when I've drawn a page a day. At the other extreme, page 99 of Burned Oak took me 5 years to draw. Depends on the subject matter, depends whether I've 'got it' on that day or not. You know what I mean by 'got it', don't you? Some days you got it, some you don't.
Yeah absolutely.

And I can see what you mean about action being easier to get away with less. But at the same time. It can be a lot harder to plan out. So shouldnt it kinda even out in the end?

When Ive drawn comics its usualy been a half to one page per day. But I've never really done action. Im not too comfortable either drawing or writing it. But I should try it sometime.

You're right, action IS a lot harder to plan out. Quiet scenes are much easier to plan. So it all evens out I guess.

What I should spend more time on is composition. I've just been looking through some Steve McNiven art and damn, he's good at it.
Hello Stuart...i love your sequential pages, very sincere rendering..
Thanks very much! So you met Frazetta, eh? I hope to go visit his museum one day.
Totally featuring this on my page ♥
Keep up the good work!
